my gforce was a snail also,,,,,,,,, I think it was the rocker and big soft rails esp in the tail. I don’t have them anymore cept for the one I’m modifying.

My Wm’s are much faster. You seem to be on the right track. But what I did to maximize paddling speed was find the center of the rocker(usually in the middle) and see how much board should stick out of the water in front(even did this w the WM shovel nose I ride) Then either move the seat back or your Center of balance to match that while you are paddling. Once on the wave then you can adjust your weight(balance) where needed. ramon

it doesn’t matter about the age just the will to continue. So you had one knee done now. What about the other? With my quad issue(muscle, tendons or ligaments scan didn’t show any problem,,ha ha) I don’t have control of the range, intensity or movement in the water like you can get at the gym or on land. Waves are powerful. Even just paddling out. Glad to hear you are up and about.
I’ll post the pics this week. The board I did it on has a good edge(added by me) w bevel and concave and I think that can help since my thrusters are sub 3″ now. It really is trial and error for placement( I’m talking about the really sweet spot where things are almost effortless) Here is a you tube link that just came out of a Infinity I think pivoting all over on almost just a swell.

I’m referring to the guy on the orange ski. He may have a rudder on that too…maybe that’s why he can snap it around like that. I was out one day w Dennis St. Caire and he did a really neat snap turn..the board was 9.5′ or 10.5′ long..after that I nick named him “cable guy”…r

laker…………I try and do it one day(hour) at a time as my body allows. I’d do it alot more
if I could…..today was a fun one……..usually the hour is spent getting my paddling form back. I may get two days skipping one in the middle and then something happens and I have to start all
over…..maybe in a week or three. But I was able to try some FFins thrusters I reshaped so I could get the center fin more ff a lil more………wow………what a difference they are. A lil under 3″ now w a different outline but they hold and are much more maneuverable. I’ll post a pic

in the next day or two……hopefully w get to try them again tomorrow……….r

It’s therapy. Rather than chanting some matra I enjoy the sound of a flat board against a resin surface. I like to see if I can improve something (at least for me). Plus it was a good way for me to learn about shaping. Trying to reconstruct incorrect repairs esp on the rails and bottom I have to put back things that were taken away(low spots)and take away things(bumps and extra glass)that shouldn’t be there. On one board it took a long time but I wanted to put it back the way it was made so I could see the blending of the curves and take some accurate measurements off of it. You can really learn alot by having to reconstruct something.

Did George have some bevel(or rounded up) on the rails from the bottom under the turned down rail? r

If you have an image capture program just capture the image…..that will make it smaller.

if not embed it in an email program like you are going to send it…if you click on the image

the four corners should have lil squares…that will allow you to diagonally shrink it

if not send it to me like you did the last images and I’ll “shrink” and post it for you.

I’ll post a couple of my lil waveski projects next week……….things you can do at home yourself.

me too. waveski.info all I get is an error message. I think that site faded about 2-3 years ago. Then it was partially revived with some past posts archive….but now nothing. It might just be
waveski in general. I have many questions about design and equipment options I could pose with lots of photo’s. I’m redoing/repairing a few boards…………..r

maybe there is more interest in SUP’s. I’d try it out but I can barely get up off the ground so any water action will have to be sitting down. For the past 2-3 months I could barely walk(with a cane). I think it’s my hip flexor. It seems to get much worse if I try and waveski. But I will prevail.

A trick I use for resizing in kb is to use an image capture program or tool. I use capture image pro. For resizing in size (length x width) I just import the file into my email program. After I get the size I think might work in photobucket(where I store the file) I just upload it. Photobucket’s
edit program takes so long to adjust pics. I have a pretty good idea of how large an image I can show on USWA so I just use “my way”. If it’s too large by clicking on the image one can usually see the whole thing anyway. If you wish to send me a link to the images I can post them for you.r You can also send them to me direct rslupsky7@gmail.com

Since my femurs are 3″ shorter than normal for someone my size (my spine 3″ longer) sometimes
it seems that is all the room I have….I need the space to get my feet/out in a hurry. One way I can go longer is if my seat is a bit higher(but being longer/wider on top it gets really tippy)…..then the angle permits a lil more space. And my ankles aren’t very flexible. When I windsurfed I set my straps up this way too. Going over the falls with one’s feet stuck in the straps can be dangerous and possibly painful. I’ll play(research) with the straps some more when I get out in the water…………..r

it’s in the low 50’s inside my office and that is plenty cold for me……….

make sure the ding part is on top when you place the board in the sun. As the water and steam will rise. I put the board in the sun and then use a shop vac to suck out what ever has risen. Even though there might not be any condensation it doesn’t mean there isn’t any water in the board ….probably just not there. Heat helps dislodge it. Also if your board is vented that may help supply air to help to dislodge water. I’ve been drying out one board for months, It is probably 1-1 1/2 lbs lighter now.

And if you have any black decals cover them up(I just had a WM veneer bottom wrinkle on me). Did a thin coat of foam over the glass and then balloon resin mix and finally will put a layer of 4 oz to seal once the bottom is all straight again. I had been drying the rails out and we had a few days of 95 degrees plus. I usually cover up the parts of the board that I’m not working on,,,,,,,duh!!

chuck, I can’t but if you take the is off your shown url it will be easier for most to see.

and where did you see that they had moved? I look at his site about 2x a week just to see what he is making. But I use the facebook site as I have found that to be more informative. btw…I do like his shaping and some of the graphics he has done. Rent will be much more here than in his garage back home. I guess he has the orders to warrant it. I know that he was bundling orders 10 at a time to cut shipping costs down. A guy I know has travels back and forth to SA in his business.(he also waveski’s and was planning to buy a Macski) ramon

Even if the water was warm and conditions warranted it I can’t remember ever having a 3 hour session….With tide change and wind my preference “window” usually isn’t that long…..besides my stamina and focus(ADD). I’m glad someone is getting some. Our bottoms were shaky to begin with this year and after Marie they are totally different(sandbars gone)…now it’s more of a shoredump….r
