Registration is up for TX Gulf Surf Championship

Postby biggriz » Wed Apr 04, 2012 3:46 pm

Click on the TGSA website to register. The event is called, Cinco de Mayo Longboard Pro/Waveski Invitational. It states to join TGSA to enter, but the President of TGSA told me that she'll waive that membership for out of state competitors just competing in this event. You will have to sign a release, as usual.

Good job Biggriz

Do have any suggestions for flying from CA? Do you fly into CRP with a waveski?

Fletch-dog, where you been dude?

The only airline that can carry waveskis to Corpus is Southwest, which is usually your best deal anyway. I think any other airline would have to go to San Antonio and you'd have to drive from there, about 2 hours drive. Best bet, Southwest.
I office so close to the airport, if anyone wants to share a rental car, but arrive at different times, I can pick you up and get you to where you need to go. Anyone who wants to save money can also sleep at my office as well. Just let me know if I can help...

Just got in from a nice surf session

Postby biggriz » Sat Apr 28, 2012 5:25 pm

overhead on the outside bar, but windy, 18-22. Forecast is for wind to gradually calm this next week and surf will probably settle and clean up by contest day.
I heard we have Fletch dog and someone from Santa Cruz entered, but don't know who. Is there anyone from the East Coast coming?

Here's a Motel 6 that's close to contest site for cheap, $43/night

Here's a Holiday Inn on the beach real close to contest site, but pricey:

Also, don't forget that my office is available for free lodging if anyone wants to come on the cheap. Don't expect any massage service included, but at least a place to stay and cost nothing. If anyone wants to enter late, I'll tell the TGSA to keep the waveski division open up to the last minute. Let me know if you have any problems with registration.

Great job Rick! Looks like we have a new media spokeperson for the uswa.

Don't think the sleep affected your handsomeness. :D Onno paddle to give away too. Nice job on getting Onno as a sponsor too.

Anyone that has the weekend free, head to Corpus Christi for a great time and surf.

Driving directions

Postby biggriz » Wed May 02, 2012 6:45 pm

Once in Corpus Christi, take S. Padre Island Drive (Hwy 358) south till it crosses over the JFK Causeway onto Padre Island. Look for the next left, Hwy 361, and go left. Then, take the first right, Zahn Road, till it dead ends to the beach, which is contest site.

Also, here is my cell number if anyone needs me: 361-533-2798
Thanks. I hope someone shows up...
